Rate limiting step identification on hydrogen desorption using thermal desorption spectroscopy

We present a theoretical model for a Thermal Desorption SPectroscopy (TDS) experiment in which simultaneous processews of diffusion in the bulk and reaction on the surface are considered. The model is used to study the interplay between these process, particularly focusing on the identification of the rate-limiting step. We also present an original TDS experimental set-up and some pereliminary measurements on Pd foils.
