Zeolites have a significant importance as catalysts in many petrochemical processes, where solids with high acidity and well defined porous system are required. An application of zeolites as catalysts for hydrogen generation (1, 2), as well as a storage medium for hydrogen (3-5), attracted so far musch less attention. Recent paper by Momirlan (6) suggested an application of zeolites loaded with some multivalent elements in the direct decomposition of water vapor in ''reaction-regeneration'' cycles. From economical point of view, mainly energy consumption, application of zeolites in the direct decomposition of water seems to be unlikely.
