Modem fossil-fired power plants with elevated steam parameters and intermediate load service as well prologned service life all for low-stress modes of operation. Siemens answer to this challange is the use of BENSON-boilers with vertical furnace tubing (rifled tubes) characterized by a BENSON minimum load of as low as 20percent and a new feedwater control concept with the measurement of evaporator inlet enthaplpy and consideration of energy storage dynamics.
