San marcos,texas turns to conjunctive use to preserve valuable edwards aquifer

This presentation will review the political,legal,and engineering factors which contributed to the City of San Marcos' decision to augment its existing groundwater supply system by building a surface water treatment plant.Also,the presentation will demonstrate how the City has dealt with the uncertainty associated wikth groundwater allocations and conjunctive use in the Edwards Aquifer region,and how this uncertainty will affect the operation of the plant and the distribution system.
