An experimental laboratory pressurizaiton vessel and flotaiton cell (cylinder) are described for conducting fbatch,dissolved air flotation (DAF) trials.Separate equipment and procedures are described and discussed for measrueing air bubble size distributions,and air released during depressurizaiton.Experimetnal air bubble distribution curves and average air bubble size values are presented for a number of cases,including: (1) type of dperessurzaiton valve; (2) bubble volume concentration upon depressurization; (3) saturation pressure; (4) temperautre; (5)pH; (6) additin of surfactant; (7) addition of flocculant: and (8) hardness.
