An important step in the centrifugal test is the preparation of soil specimen. In this study a traveling pluviation apparatus (TPA) is developed for preparing sand ground model used in the centrifugal test. A relation among the drop height, rigid tube diameter and relative density of Fu-LUng sand is proposed. The results also show that by combining various diameter of rigid tube and height of drop, the TPA method can reconstitute the specimen density of sand over a wide range from a loose state to a dense one in a stable manner.
