Piles subjected to torsion

摘要

The bearing behavior of piles subjected to torsion and axial loads has been observed at the Ruhr-University Bochum. For this research a test device has been developed for the geotechnical Centrifuge Z2 (the 4m Centrifuge) to introduce independently controlled torsional moments and axial loads without any influences of horizontal loads and movements. The capability of the test design additionally allow cyclic loading. Thus it has the possibility to follow the whole load history of piles subjected to torsion.
