摘要

The rotating beam fatigue (RBF) properties of six P/M stainless steel alloys (three austenitic grades and three ferritic grades) were investigated. Density was the single most influential processing variable for determining fatigue properties over the density range examined. Composition and sintering conditons had a secondary effect. The subtle changes in microstructure, related to the composition and choice of sintering process, did not have a significant effect on the fatigue response. The 434 stainless steel alloy at >93percent dense developed the highest mean fatigue strength of the alloys tested, 38,000 psi.
