摘要

Most of the sediment and water routing models were developed for solving one-dimesnional alluvail river problems. Although two-and three-dimensional models exist for alluvial river simulation, they are too computational intensive and reqire extensive field data for engineering applications. The Generalized Stream Tube model for Alluvial River Simulation (GSTARS) was first developed by Molinas and Yang (1986) to simulate the flow conditions in a semi-two-dimensional manner and the change in channel geometry in a semi-three-dimensinal manner. The original GSTARS was developed for Cyber minframe computers. The revised and enhanced model, GSTARS version 2.0 (Yang, Trevino, and Simoes, 1997) was developed for PC applications.
