Research on flow cut-outs in the lower yellow river

The flow cut-outs in the lower Yellow River are becoming more and more serious since the beginning of 1990s. This has drawn much attention and concern from all walks of life. Flow cut-outs have reflected the deteriorating situation caused by the cotnradiction between supply and demand of water resources. It is one of the latest and most notable problems we're meeting in development and regulation of the Yellow River. The Yeollow River COnservation Commission has given top priority. Some measures have been taken in order to allevate the bad effects that flow cut-outs have brought, meanwhile we are making a good study of this phenomenon, looking into the causes, anlayzing the effects so that we may adopt effective measures to alleviate the situation and bring it under control.
