The Psychological Effects Within A Working Environment and its Implication on Building Design

The importance of access to windows as a source of light is well documented. But moe poignant is its source of variety, change and information for the occupant which effects human ocmfort. Thse psychological needs are usually less understood and documented as they are of a qualitatie nature and thus less easier to define. One aspect f conflict in a work setting is the deisre to see without being seen. This avodiance of driect eye contact seems to be paramount ot produce a "positve" working environment. This analysis focuses on these isual conflicts amidst the environment-oriented design factros needed for natural light with tis consequential psychological implications on the work force, such as people's privacy, well being and comfort.
