Recently, the number of residential buildings belonging to the Passive and Low energy Architecture has been increasing in Japan. However, the actual perfomrance of PLE houses has not been clarified, andthat makes it idfficult ot popularize them. In this work, we ifrst did research for and established a database about PLE houses to support their design and popularization. Next, PLE houses described in architectural journals in Japan were invetigated and information about them was entered into the database. Finally the tend, which are related to factors such as ocmpletion year and regional climate, of PLE houses and of methods used in them were clarified using the databae. Also, we noted that the information in such journals is insufficient for evaluating PLE houses, e.g. the heat loss coeficient is rarely mentioned in the articles.
