Testing institutes are sometimes asked whether two specimens made of cementitous materials are identical or of the same origin or not. It is very difficult to answer this question if the two specimens do not contain significantly different aggregates and do not contain characteristic differences in the major or minor components of the binder. Therefore a testing procedure based on the analysis of 14 trace elements in the residual belite was developed. By Kolmogoroff Smirnow tests is was possible to distinguish between specimens with the same cement and with different cements.
