摘要

The monotonic tensile response, the influence of loading frequency on the fatigue life and the residual fatigue response ofcontinuous silicon crbide fiber reinforced silicon nitride(SiC_f/Si_3N_4) matrix composites have been investigated. The monotonic tensile tests as well as the fatigue tests have been performed at room temperature. the fatigue tests are conducted at three different frequencies and the specimens are subejcted to tension-tension fatigue at sinusoidal loading with a stress ratio R=0.1 and a variatin in frequencies of 5,20 and 50Hz. The main findings of the study are that the fatigue lfie decreases as the loading frequency increases, and all composites tested failed in a catastrophic manner.
