A new active guidance control for a land travelling marine-express model train ME03

摘要

Marine-Express (ME) 03 is the third model train the ME project which is designed to travel on the land based on a theory of new combined levitation-and-propulsion for ME proposed in Kyushu University. This paper presents a new strategy for a lateral guidance control of ME03 which is levitated and propelled by LSM. It can be carried out actively by controlling electromagnetic attraction and repulsion forces produced between guidance-coils on both sidewalls of the guideway and the corresponding PM's on board. A switching control can be also done with no mechanical movements of LSM guideway. The experiment has given a favorable verification of the proposed active guidance control method.
