Experimental work, when creep feed and surface grinding gamma titanium aluminide with both conventional and superabrasive (diamond and cubic boron nitride) wheels, suggests that it is easier to grind than nickel based superalloys and conventional titanium alloys such as Ti-6Al-4V, based on cutting force and tool wear data. This is in marked contrast to results from extensive turning and milling work.
