I've never been completely sure that anyone, especially the popular authors, has a corner on what it takes to be an effective leader. many of them (Drucker, Bennis, Covey, Batten, etc.) have great ideas but in my experience the real leaders I have known have not been clones of each other. instead they seem to enjoy being themselves. In some special individual way they develop relationships that make them highly respected and in return, these leaders receive the fruits of a highly motivated workforce.
