Conventional standard artificial neural networks has been applied widely in state estimation of bioproces, however, the fuzzy-aided neural networks(FANN), which combines fuzzy clustering and neural networks, can give more satisfactory results. The FANN model was applied in state estimation of 2-keto-L-gulonic acid(2-KLG) fermentation, and the results were compared with those of standard neural network.
