In Positron Emission Tomography (PET) dynamic cardiac studies, both the input function, i.e., the plasma time-activity curve (PATC), and the output function, i.e., the tissue time-activity curve (TTAC), are obtained Simultaneously from the same sequence of PET images. Therefore, simultaneous optimal sampling schedule (OSS) design for both the input and output functions in tracer kinetic modeling with PET is investigated in this paper. The spillover correction for the cross contaminations in cardiac studies is incorporated into the OSS design procedure.
