URBAN AND FREEWAY NETWORK MODEL CALIBRATION AND VALIDATION

摘要

The paper describes a new integrated urban and freeway network model METACOR. Based on macroscopic flow theory the model is able to simulate large scale network with good accuracy the traffic phenomena and low computational effort. METACOR has been validated on basis of real traffic flow measurement on the network of the Aalborg city. This simulation program will be used as a tool for testing automatic control guidance strategies using Variables Message Sign (VMS).
