Fine Material Preparation for several kinds of pigments (Red Lake C, C. I. Pigment Blue and C. I. Pigment Yellow) have been investigated under supercritical CO2 condition. In experiments acetone was used as solvent and CO2 as anti-solvent to cause recrystallization, a series of 5-500 μm nozzles were applied to scatter solution from the crystallizer which contained pigments. The experimental result showed that: (1)the process could produce fine particles of pigments less than 1 μm in particle diameter; (2)the products of fine particles had very narrow diameter distribution; (3)the morphology of products was spherical; (4)the experimental results could easily be controlled by temperature, pressure, nozzle and ratio of solvent to anti-solvent.
