In summary, we have shown that collisions of neutron-rich nuclei at intermediate energies reveal novel information about the EOS of asymmetric nuclear matter that is of interest to both nuclear- and astro-physics, such as the properties of radioactive nuclei, supernovae, and neutron stars. The ratio of the number of fast neutrons to that of protons is found to be sensitive to the asymmetric part, but not to the symmetric part of the nuclear EOS. It is also almost independent of the in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections. A large n/p ratio of fast nucleons has recently been observed in reactions induced by neutron-rich nuclei, and this is consistent with the findings of this work. A detailed comparison with the experimental data is underway and is expected to give useful information about the isospin-dependent nuclear EOS.
