Observations of pulverised coal heterogeneity before, during and after combustion

The heterogeneity of two pulverised coals is examined. Different particle compositions give rise to a wide range of behaviour during combustion in a captive sample reactor. Ash/char combustion residues exhibit diverse particle morphologies.
