This paper compares two coordination mechanisms, quntity discount and leadtiome-dependent discount, for making inventory decisions within and inter-organizational supply chain. The research uses simulation as methodology. The results showed that both incentive systems can ahve a positive impact in a supply chain. coordination is accomplished through a combination of increase sales and cost reduction. The authors believe that given the condition of the markets the leadtime-dependent mechanism has more potential.
