Elements of Time-Based Competition and Life Cycle Costing in Concurrent Engineering Environment

摘要

This paper presents various components of time-based competition and life-cycle costing for the three planning horizons of strategic, itnermediate, and tactical. The paper further provides specific definitions for these components and, where appropriate, presents a formula for their calculations. These definitions and formulas are a reflection of an interdisciplinary environment where time andcost issues are not considered an end to themselves but as a part of a concurrent engineering environment.
