An accurate group forecast is vital to the success of a hotel yield management system. Hotel yield management systems use the group forecast to determien the amount of capacity available to transient business, and then base their optimization upon the available capacity. If the group forecast is inaccurate, use of the yield management system may resut in less than optimal, or even poor, results. The purpose of this research was to develop and test the data necessary of implement a proposed group forecasting method.
