Supply Chain Management has become the major driving force for improving competitiveness for business organizations in a wide variety of industries. One of the milestone developments for Supply Chain Management is the establishment of the Supply Chain Council (SCC) in 1996 in order to advance supply chain management practices. Currently, the SCC has over 800 members from practitioners, technology providers, consultants, academicians and government. The purpose of this study is to assess the financial outcomes of 69 founding member firms of the Supply Chain Council using data obtained from "Research Insight" financial database, from 1990 to 1996 - prior to the establishment of the Supply Chain Council, and compare it to the financial data from 1997 to 2000. Preliminary results obtained for 36 of the founding members indicate improvements (most of them significant) in all measures.
