INITIAL TEST OF A DECISION MODELING INSTRUMENT FOR PROVIDING DEVELOPMENTAL FEEDBACK IN MANAGEMENT TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

The design of a decision modeling instrument is presented for the purpose of providing decision makers with feedback as to the objectively determined criteria used to make a common managerial decision. The instrument allows for individual differences in perceptions of decision criteria. This paper presents the results of an empirical assessment of the instrument for a sample of 111 participants. Application of the instrument in management training and development is discussed as are additional applications such as in knowledge representation and the capturing of expert judgments. Refinements to the instrument and procedures are discussed.
