摘要

The purpose of this study was to develop a diagnostic management process, teach the process, and test it in the classroom environment of a Brigham Young University management course. The new management process, developed by the researcher, was called "Management By Diagnosis." The study was designed to determine if training in the new management process could improve the decision-making skill of college students. The value of the training was determined by testing the students with a researcher developed test and The Leadership Opinion Questionnaire.;From the findings of the study it was concluded that training in "Management By Diagnosis" significantly improved the decision-making performance of college students and widened the range in which they could make effective decisions. The trained students used significantly more "consideration" and less "structure" in their management style when compared to untrained students.
