An Analysis of the Impact of Processing Time Inaccuracies in a Dual Resource Constrained Job Shop

This paper examiens the impact of inaccuracies in the estiamtion of operation times on the performance of dispatching rules in a dual resource constrained job shops. Ten distributions of the estimation errors are simulated ranging from all estimates being completely accurate to all optimistic estimates to all pessimistic estimates to a combination of optimistic and pessimistic estimates. Four differnet shop environments are simualted. The resutls indicate that even modest errors in the estimation of operation times can have a significnat impact on shop performance.
