Alices: an advanced software workshop for simulators

The building of a simulator requires the use of highly skilled personnel. Indeed, though the price of the necessary hardware is constantly decreasing, more quality is required from the associated software. Various types of skills are necessary, to simulate the process, to draw the graphics, to integrate the computer architecture-- As an example, the development costs of a middle size training simulator in the electrical industry comprise around 80 percent of software development. On the other hand, the decreasing price of hardware renders simulators attractive to new categories of potential customers. Software costs must then also decrease, for the development as well as for the maintenance.
