Development of engine room monitoring and alarm systems

摘要

The paper presents monitoring and alarm systems for engine room related to electric power station and main engine with appropriate cooperating devices respectively. The main focus of presented work is concentrated on comparative analysis of three kinds of engine room monitoring and alarm systems, i.e. modified local systems based on multifunctional microprocessor meters and virtual instrumentation, monitoring systems based on distributed control systems and finally, monitoring systems based on integrated artifical intelligence. Development trends concerning new sensors, signal processing methods, sophisticated software dna flexible system configuration are pointed out. Final conclusions, including practical and exploitational aspects, esecially in relation to the possibility of applying of systems under consideration to unattended machinery space and one man bridge operation, are formulated.
