摘要

Debonding on the interfaces between the matrix and the inclusions(fibre) in the composites is modelled in this paper as a unilateral contact problem. The finite element mixed iterative method in the form of the increment is applied to solve this strong non-linear problem. The generalized self-consistent finite element iterative averaging method(GSCFEIAM) is also used to obtain the overall mechanical behaviour of the composites. Thus, combining these two iterative algorithms with the interfacial failure criterion can more effectively predict the overall mechanical behaviour of short fibre metal composites with the interfacial debonding. Numerical examples show that the friction of the interface has a certain influence on the appearance and extent of debonding and the elastic effective property of the composites.
