Integration of an mrp II software and CIM components

摘要

The purpose of this study is to achieve data and applications intergration between and MRP II system and shop floor data collection systems to support the manufacturing planning and control process. This requires the linking of various operating systems and application interactions for batch/continuous data acquisition. In particular, data communication is addressed between a network of bar codes, artificial vision inspection systems and a commercial MRP II software to provide a quick shop floor feedback. The physical connection between these systems is provided by installing a TCP/IP communication protocol using the PC/TCP program. Shop floor data are stored in ASCII formatted files and transmitted to the MRP II system on a real time basis, so that instantaneous information of resources and operations is made available to ensure continuous and effective production monitoring in real-life applications.
