A spherical LPG tank of 200 m~3 in volume and 7.1 m in diameter was built with the integral hydro-bulge forming (IHBF) technology.The design,the fabrication,the welding and hydrobulging process is introduced,the thickness distribution,the residual stress distribution characteristics,mehcanical properties and the shape change are measured and analyzed.Three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element method is used to analyze the hydro-bulging process of the tank,the deformation process and the deformation features are revealed.And on the basis of above analysis,reasonable suggestions are presented for improving the design,the fabrication and the welding of the spherical LPG tank.
