Comaprison of proposed asme rules for bolted flanged joints

摘要

An ASME Special Working group on Bolted Flanged Joints is implementing the new PVRC gasket constants (Gb,a and Gs) along with several other changes to the traditional bolted flange design rules of Appendix 2 of the Code. The proposed new rules and a new Appendix for Bolted Flanged Joint design are being finalized.Besides new tightness based gasket constants that replace the traditional m & Y,the concepts of tightness and assmbly efficiency are introduced by the new rules along with other modifications such as a redefined hot operating bolt load,required bolt area,accommodating external forces,and stiffness limits.
