摘要

Industrial wastewater streams often contain elevated concentrations of heavy metals. The risk of water resource contamination by polluted wastestreams has prompted legislation which imposes limits on the heavy metal concentrations in industrial effluents. The increasingly stringent regulatory limits engender the need for development of cost-effective and environmentally friendly metal removal technologies.
