Automated manufacturing systems using the client/server model

摘要

A case study of an integrated system of automated data collection and analysis software applications using a client/server model to monitor a complete manufacturing processis described. The software applications communicate directly with the processing systems on the manufacturing floor, providing feedback to the operators in a real-time manner. The data collected are simultaneously sent to a central data warehouse - a relational database. From the data repository, management can gain a macro view of the manufacturing floor status to make inforamed decisions.
