Braided reinforcements have proven to be a cost-effective mateiral in a wide variety of composites. However, braid's broader acceptance has been hindered by the lack of comprehensive and reliable design tools to reduce the overall cost of the development cycle. This paper discusses the basic paproaches used by current computer models that meet this need.
