The probability density functions (PDFs) of the passive temperature flucturatiosn #theta# and the components of hte temperature rdissipation rate #epsilon#_#theta# have bene measrued using a high0resolution compact multi0cold-wire probe in a turbulent plane wake and in a round jet.THe wake is generated by a circular cylinder at a characteirstic Reynolds number based on cylinder diameter (Re) of aout 3000.THe jet issues from a nozzle with a smooth contraction at Re approx approx 19,000 based on nozzle exit conditions
