Homogeneous ignition of methane-air mixtures over platinum: ocmparison of measuremnts and detailed numerical predictions

The homogeneous inition of lean methane-air mixtures was investigated numericlaly and experimentally in a laminar plane chnnle flow configuration established by two externally heawted catalytically active (Ptcotted) ceramic paltes. 250 mm long by 100 mm wide,placed 7 mm apart.Prefeated fuel-air mixtures with equivalene ratios of 0.31 and 0.37 and uniform wvelocities of 1 and 2 m/s were examind.resulting in incoming Reynolds numeber s ranging from 190 to 380.
