Four kinds of complex deinking agents XQ were prepared after strenuous studies on the performances of more than 50 kinds of chamicals in washing , floatation and flotation-washing deinking. Fatty acids, alkyl phosphates, surfactants, and polyamides were systematically compared. The results show that anionic surfactants, such as ABS、AES、SDS were able to produce a lot of foam , but their coagulability for ink particles was inferior and nonionic surfactants such as AEO、APO brought about good deinking results. As far as deinking power is concerned, the optimized formulas of surfactants or polyamide have proved themselves to be comparable to Japanese products FW-235, Dl-360 and DI-370.The mechanism and technological conditions of deinking were discussed. The optimum size of ink particles for flotation deinking was found to be l0-70um, while for washing deinking was smaller than 10μm. Wetting angle, surface tension and foamability of deinking agents were found to bear no quantitative relationship with their deinking power. HLB value of the surfactants could influence their deinking power and could be taken as an index for selecting the proper deinking agent.
