Reevaluating tankcar commodity transfer facility design and spill containment pans to lower environmental risks and disposal costs

This presentation will review the standard railroad track spill containment methods currently in use at industrial facilities and then proceed to establishe helative costs. New site design ideas will be introduced that w ill greatly reduce initial capital costs for construction By mnimizing the collection of rainwater, the plant operators can reduce the costs of disposal of contaminated rainwater a nd reduce the possibility of minor releases that will be washed into a major remediation expense.
