It has previously been shown that the coronary arteries undergo cyclic flexure, stretching and twisting due to their attachment to the beating heart [3,7, 10]. We hypothesize that vein grafts to the coronary arteries also undergo such cyclicmotion. Characterizing the heart-induced deformation of coronary artery vein grafts (CAVG) is important in order to study its possible role in their pathogenesis.The purpose of the present work was to quantify the dynamics of human coronary artery vein grafts in-vivo.
