摘要

There is interest in poly (amine-quinone) (PAQ) as a primer for poorly prepared metal surfaces because it can displace water from tight rusted steel and then be heat cured to a hard, adherent film. A photocurable PAQ primer which could be quickly cured with a portable light source would be useful on ships for coating areas which are difficult to access. To make a UV curable material, PAQ was reacted at amine sites to add acrylate groups. UV cured coatings made from mixtures of acrylated PAQ and commercial bi- and tri- functional acrylates were found to be softer and adhered less well to steel than heat cured PAQ coatings
