A series of aliphatic urethane acrylate oligomers were UV cured and their accelerated weathering performance studied. Gloss retention, yellowing index, tensile strength, break elongation, and tensile modulus were determined as a function of accelerated weathering length. Preliminary spectroscopic data will also be pressented. Several high performance oligomers passed 3000 hours QUV test with excellent retention of both physical appearance and mechanical properties. Possible degradation mechanisms in weathering will be proposed and related to chemical structures of these oligomers.
