Factors Affecting the Misting Of UV Curable Inks

Currently one of the problems hindering the progress of UV curable inks is that of "misting" or "ink-fly". This paper investigates the effect that oligomers have on this property by studying model systems. From these model systems identifications of the factors involved in misting, and information on what can be done to oligomer design and consequently ink formulation to prevent this problem will be presented.
