Performance of First of Its Kind Co-Generation High Pressure Boiler for Sugar Factories in India - A Case Study

In India, most of the sugar factories have Horse Shoe Furnace or Inclined Grate Furnace or Dump Grate Furnace Boilers. In later seventies sugar mills realised the importance of Bagasse and started looking for improved efficiency boilers. Due to exorbitant prices of oil and restriction of firing wood, sugar factories could not afford oil and wood, and naturally trend was towards high efficiency Bagasse fired boilers with dependable and reliable service.
