The project is located on downstream of Liuchong River, the north source of Wujiang River and with a distance of 154 km from Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou Province. It is the upmost cascade of the power development scheme along Wujiang River. The station will be established with an installation of 540 MW, which can provide firm output 171.5 MW and annual energy 1594 GWH. Its reservoir has a total storage of 4925 million m~3 with aregulation capacity of 3361 million m~3 and over-year regulation features; it will contribute to compensation for downstream cascades and increases of firm output and energy supply. With its completion, the project will become a principal power source of peak regulation, frequency modulation improvement and stand-by in the networks.
