摘要

Reservoir induced earthquake has a middle-low magnitude. It has a shallow focus and intensive shocks, and can cause local destruction. So attention has been paid on the study of RIS. Since RIS has a small affecting area, the recording data are not rich enough. Although the records of xinfengjiang Reservoir are based on bedrock of dam bottem and those of Monticello and Qroville Reservoir are based on sarface rocks, they both show that RIS has a high peak acceleration, quick acceleration attenuation and high freguency, RIS has a high intensity with attenuates slowly. The duration of RIS is very short. The peak acceleration and intensity Caused by RIS on Three Gorges project will be 0.12g and VI respectively.We didn't have the data of the cases with magnitude Ms>5.0, further studies should be conducted based on new data.
